Akon set to organize a concert for health workers in appreciation for fight against coronavirus

The outbreak of the deadly coronavirus has seen lots of efforts from health professionals across the globe. Majority of them risk their lives to save others and help prevent the further spread of the virus. So far, some have lost their lives with others battling for life after contracting the disease in their selfless attempts to help others.

Looking at all these stresses health workers are subjected to in fighting a disease that seems to be defying all available solutions, one will agree that these frontline warlords deserve a better treat. In this view, AliauneThiam, a Senegalese musician and songwriter popularly known as Akon is offering to hold a grand concert for them.

The musician took to his Facebook page to write that: “Hopefully, Soon when all this corona shit is over, I’d like to do a concert for healthcare workers, man you guys are up against some crazy challenges and I wanted to say thank you”.

This follows soon after Akon disclosed to the public that, stream numbers for two of his major hit songs, “Locked up” and “Lonely” increased drastically following the recent call for self-isolation.
