Cardi B reacts to the arrest of Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Brown

American rapper and songwriter Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, known popularly as Cardi B has responded to the recent arrest of actress Rosemond Alade Brown who was jailed for 90 days by a Ghanaian court.

“I seen a lot of Americans do photoshoots like that. Even tho is not my style I don’t think she was going for sexual more going the natural idea. I think jail is a bit harsh .Maybe social media probation or community service” Cardi B wrote.

The actress who Cardi B refers to as her “twin sister” was jailed on Friday April 16, 2021 jailed for 90 days by a Circuit Court in Accra Ghana for taking nude pictures with her under-aged son and posting such on social media.

This was deemed inappropriate by Child Rights International leading to a formal complaint being made to the Ghana police for further investigation and action. This subsequently ended in court after a referral to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, resulting in her conviction.

Her arrest has generated a lot of backlash from many people, especially Ghanaian and Nigerian celebrities who are calling for her release; according to some of these celebrities, the purpose of the law is to protect the child but they are of the view that jailing the Mum will cause a much bigger harm.

Cardi B and the actress became friends during the latter’s visit to Ghana in 2019 as part of her first time tour in Africa. After performing in Nigeria, the rapper tripped to Ghana where she met with some actresses, including Rosemond Brown.
