Floyd Mayweather is set to build a boxing academy in Africa to “expose talents to the world”

International boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather reveals plans to establish a boxing academy in Africa to help harness hidden talents across the continent. The boxing great stated that, Africa has so much talent that he wants the world to see.

“There are so many talents in the sports world over there in the United States, and Africa is dominating in the U.S now. There are so many hidden talents, so much skills, so we want the world to see these skills,” Floyd said.

He added that, “we don’t want it to be hidden, like I was able to display my skills and talents to the world, here I am today. I want to build an academy just for the children to grow.”

Key point in his statement was the intention to “give back” to the content. “We just want to help. It’s all about giving back, helping the youths and the young generation coming up,” He said.

According to the plan as expressed to the media, the boxer promised to bring world class trainers on board to help discover talents at tender age and groom them into world standard boxers.

“The ultimate plan is to find the next Mayweather. I want to work with kids, I will come over to meet and talk to make sure we are all on the same page, and slowly start building these fighters.”

The boxer made these remarks on a recent visit to Nigeria where he had a conversation with the country’s current minister for transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who doubles as a presidential aspirant for the 2023 polls.
