Ghana Fires all National Team Coaches

As part of moves to rebuild and return Ghanaian football to the glory days, the Ghanaian Football Association (GFA) has dismissed all coaches of all the country’s national teams, ranging from the senior male black stars to the female national side. “The decision affects both male and female national teams,” the GFA said.

“The GFA extends its appreciation to all coaches and members of the respective national teams for their contributions to our teams and Ghana football.’‘

The football authorities are rebuilding the image of the sport following massive corruption scandals and one year of management by a normalization committee.

The Black Stars have over the years been underwhelming, to the dissatisfaction of Ghanaian football authorities and fans, under Kwesi Appiah’s guidance.

The black stars were eliminated in the second round of the African Nations Cup last year and failed to even qualify for the previous edition. Since it’s heroic display in the 2010 world cup that saw it narrowly miss out on a semi-finals spot, Ghana has not been to the world cup again.
