Ghana’s popular Pallbearers to donate $250k out of $1m meme sale to Ukraine

Ghana’s Dancing Pallbearers have pledged to donate $250,000 in charity to Ukraine after successfully auctioning a meme of their popular video for $1 million.

The group’s leader, Benjamin Aidoo made this promise in a video after the news of the sales went viral. “We will like to announce that we would transfer twenty-five per cent of the funds from the sale of our memes at the NFT auction to the Ukrainian Charitable Foundation”.

On their usual duty of helping families to give their deceased a befitting burial, the pallbearing group recorded a video which became the million dollar product. The video which went viral in 2020 draws significant traction all over the world.

The group decided to mint and auction the video as a Non-Fungible Token (NFT). The popularity and exponential increase in value of the meme attracted numerous buyers.

A middle East recording house, 3F Music which emerged highest bidder purchased the 10-second meme for a record $1,046,079.54; 25% of which will be given to the Ukrainian charity.
