“I see dead bodies in Africa”; Melinda Gates sparks outrage

In an interview with American news channel CNN, Melinda Gates, wife of world billionaire Bill Gates sparked anger in Africa after expressing her views on the possible damages COVID-19 will cause in Africa.

According to her, the less developed countries, especially those in Africa will suffer the most from the pandemic due to the level of exposure and susceptibility. “COVID-19 will be horrible in the developing world, the disease is going to bite hard on the continent. I see dead bodies in the streets of Africa, my heart is in Africa. I’m worried” she added.

Speaking on the relatively lesser number of cases recorded in Africa, Melinda said that “the only reason why the reported cases of the coronavirus disease in Africa is low now is most likely because there has not been wide testing of people.”

These comments she claims are based on her experience in African countries through charity works.

Melinda made these points after disclosing to CNN that, their organization is pushing money behind eight different vaccines which will be ready soon for trials and subsequently help deal with the outbreak.

These views, however, did not go well with many Africans across the globe. Some refer to her as a doomsday prophet with others claiming she was just creating the right atmosphere for business as usual.
