American rapper, singer, songwriter Kanye West has offered to pay college fees for George Floyd’s six-year-old daughter and also support the families of two black people who were killed by the police and white people as a result of racial discrimination.
The record producer and composer has set up a $2 million-dollar facility from which the families of Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery will also be beneficiaries.
The two were brutally murdered prior to the Minnesota police killing of George Floyd, an incident which has so far sparked outrage and numerous protests the world over, especially the United States.
While Taylor was shot dead in her sleep in her own apartment after a police raid, Arbery was considered a thief and shot dead by some regular white people whilst jogging.
In addition to all these, Kanye West equally opted to help revive black-owned businesses in Chicago, Illinois, that suffers serious setbacks due to COVID-19 and the recent looting amidst protests.
This gesture must be emulated by many other wells to do people in support of the Black community against the systematic racism they have suffered over the years.
