Nigeria: Visually impaired Software Engineer develops mobile phones, call for partnership

Nigeria: John Msughter, a visually impaired Software Engineer has developed android powered mobile phones which are already in use as seven (7) units of the product have been sold on Jumia.

John’s close friend, Ukah Kurugh who broke the news revealed that, he is seeking for partners to assist in production as he plans to produce on a large scale. Defining the category of the partners, Ukah said John is searching for “business minded individuals for large scale manufacture of the mobile device.

Additionally, he is also looking for “competent hands, in terms of technical know-how, to be part of the project and ensure its sustenance.”

His friend further revealed that, the 44-year-old designed and produced the phones after developing problems with his eyesight. The patented name for the brand is Chelsea Mobile.

“One intriguing thing about this opportunity is that John developed this technology after becoming blind in 2018. The name of his incorporated firm with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is Chelsea Mobile.”

Explaining how he manages to come up with such initiative, considering his situation, John told reporters that, “Everything comes from imagination.” According to him, he came up with the design and contracted a company to do the production.
