Nigerian Afrobeat star, Wizkid sold out 20k capacity venue for three consecutive nights

Nigerian Music star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known popularly as Wizkid has once again proved a major point by selling out the 20,000 capacity O2 Arena with his “Made in Lagos” concert. This recent show was not the first time Wizkid sold out the Arena; he earlier did so in 2019 with his “Star boy fest.”

However, the unique factor about this recent event is that, this time around, the Grammy award winning musician sold out the facility for three consecutive days, starting from November 28, to the first of December 2021.

Giving turns to established musicians, up and coming young musicians from Nigeria, as well as international artists, the StayBoy and his friends served the audience with back-to-back hit songs, electrifying the crowd with infectious music.

Moved by this achievement, the officials of the Arena offered Wizkid a congratulatory reward in the form of a specially painted artwork as a token of appreciation.

Apart from making history for African music, this achievement has as well emboldened Nigeria’s role in selling Afro-music to the world; by far, Nigerian musicians have with their consistency and quality, consolidated a position for the country as a top-tier global hub for pop music.

The likes of Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage, among other top and upcoming Nigerian musicians have made a bold statement in the global music scene, dominating entertainment charts, award lists with largely contested streaming figures across the world.
