The Nigerian army has been commended for the feat of capturing the ammunition used by the Boko Haram insurgents in their most recent attack in Sambisa forest in the North east of Nigeria. The troop whose operation is named Hadin Kai was recently commended by Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya for their prowess and bravery in carrying out the military operation.
The commendation by the chief of Army staff was made during a visit to the headquarters of the theatre command of the Nigerian army where he inspected the plethora of weapons captured from the enclaves of the terrorists ravaging lives and property in Nigeria and some neighbouring countries.
The COAS during the visit made it known that the Nigerian Army is on the verge of wiping off terrorism from the nation and prepared to do so as they are being supported by the government. He went on to advise the terrorists to surrender their arms and be rehabilitated, now that they have the opportunity to do so.
He stated, “The weapons that were captured from these terrorists speak for themselves and we cannot but appreciate the troops and urge them to do even more. I am very impressed with the commitment and zeal I am seeing in the theatre and indeed all our theatre of operations.”
He went further to reveal that the fight against the terrorists is quite a difficult one, but the military are prepared to defeat them, “Challenges are part of operations, but the military and other agencies are not deterred by the few setbacks we’ve had. But we are determined to defeat this enemy. Our call to all these terrorists and bandits is to know that the tide is against them.”
