Nigerian surgeon praised for putting a smile on a young lady’s face with leg surgery

A Nigerian surgeon identified as Bolarinwa Akinola has been praised online since he posted the before and after photos of a young lady he helped with a leg surgery. Thanks to him, the lady has regained her self-confidence.

According to his narration on Linkdin, the young lady called Beauty told him that she was not happy with her look and wished to get a surgery to correct it. The surgeon also added that, the young lady equally complained of suffering from some pains due to the condition.

“I first met Beauty in September 2020. She wasn’t feeling very beautiful, by her own admission. She didn’t like the way she looked. And even more pertinent, she was starting to have pain,” he said, adding that, “today, Beauty feels beautiful again. Patient is happy.”

Explaining the cause of the condition and how to correct it, the surgeon said “Blount’s disease is a common cause of “bow-leg” in Nigeria. In fact being African is a risk factor.”

“Restoring the joint line, which is often ignored, is a very important step in correcting the deformity. Not only should we make the leg look straight, we must endeavour to make the joint line look right too. Of course, it’s not always easy.” He added.

His post, which according to him was made upon permission by the young lady has so far gone viral. He has been praised for not only transforming her life but also restoring her self-confidence, giving her “wings to fly.”
