Rwanda set to build Africa’s first futuristic greenhouse

The well-developed African country is set to add more projects to her feats by building the continent’s first-ever futuristic greenhouse named Green City which will have environmentally clean mini-factories and affordable houses, all-electric vehicles and craft production centers.

According to the pioneers of this project, the Green City, which is set to commence in January 2020, will make good use homegrown solutions, local construction materials and also integrate green building and design, efficient and renewable energy, recycling and inclusive living.

The estimated cost for the facility is between four to five billion dollars($4-5billion). The 30,000-housing unit capacity edifice will be situated on 620 hectares land area in Gasabo District of Kigali. If completed, the facility will benefit about 150,000 people.

Aside the beauty, technologically inclined and development-oriented aspects, the facility is also expected to create about 16,000 direct jobs which will boost the employment figures of the country.
