Sadio Mane wins CAF player of the year

Liverpool’s No. 10, and Senegal’s top, Sadio Mane beats teammate, Mo Sallah alongside Man City‘s Riyad Mahrez to clinched the CAF ‘African Best Player’ award of the year 2019 for the first time.
In 2016, Mane finished third and twice second in the last two years.

As he exponential rise continues, playing a crucial role in Liverpool’s Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup and recent Premier League successes, Mane sets to prove his best in the game.

With 22 goals in the year awarded for, Mane was equally named as the Premier League‘s joint-highest goalscorer flanking Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He recorded 31 goals in the same season.
Back at home Mane is a national hero. He helped lead Senegal to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations over the summer.

He finished fourth in the Ballon d’Or awards, thus standing as the world fourth-best player and Africa’s number one.
