Two veteran African Footballers, Yaya Toure, Former Ivory Coast, Barcelona and Manchester City star and Radhi Jaidi of Tunisia have secured international coaching deals after hanging their boots.
Four-time African footballer of the year, Yaya Toure who gained some coaching experience through working with Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn announced his new position on his official Twitter handle. “It’s great to be back in the Ukraine to continue my coaching journey. Thank you to Olympic Donetsk for the wonderful welcome.” He wrote.
The Ivorian talisman who is set to play the role of an assistant coach at the club won three Premier League titles with Manchester City and the Champions League with Barcelona.
His appointment was followed by that of his Tunisian counterpart, Radhi Jaidi who played for English Premier League side, Southampton. Radhi was equally recruited by Belgian side Cercle Brugge as an assistant coach.
The club officials stated that “Jaidi will be specifically involved in setting up individual training programs for the players, as well as preparing the squad for the training sessions and matches on a daily basis.”
The player said that he is really looking forward to taking up this challenge and getting involved at Cercle. He added that “I hope my experiences will help me achieve the ambitious objectives. I can’t wait to get started and get to know everyone in the organization!”
