The Ethiopian head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) says the attention Ukraine is receiving exposes the world’s biases towards black people and other races.
He indicated that, the aid is necessary; however clear difference in response to past crisis in countries such as Ukraine, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria or others show how some human beings are “more equal.”
In a news conference, Mr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said “I don’t know if the world really gives equal attention to black and white lives.”
He added that, “I need to be blunt and honest that the world is not treating the human race the same way.”
“Some are more equal than others. And when I say this, it pains me. Because I see it. Very difficult to accept but it’s happening,” he added.
