Young Nigerian Innovator who built electricity station offered 5years Scholarship

A young Nigerian innovator called Mr. Solomon Ukoha who recently went viral for his technological excellence has been offered a full University scholarship by a state governor.

Mr. Solomon who built a miniature electricity sub-station with local materials, powered by crude oil demonstrated how the set-up works in a short video. The station was able to light a bulb and also provided enough power for people to charge their phones.

Fortunately for him, his innovation was recognized by the governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Okezie Ikpeazu who offered to support him in terms of education to further develop his skill to help deal with the power challenges of the country.

In a statement, the governor said, “Immediately I came across the video, I directed that he be sought for a meeting with me because beyond what we hoped to do for him as an Abian to energize and promote his innovation, I was personally eager to witness first hand with a sense of pride this sub station constructed by one of our young ones.”

“I have therefore, in the name of Abia State Government, granted him a 5-year full scholarship to any University of his choice. I also advised him to train other youths in the area of similar innovations.” the governor added.

According to His Excellency Ebekieze, Innovations like what Solomon developed will be of good help in the country’s bid to deal with the chronic power challenges. “It is my belief that, with such innovations, the perennial power challenges faced by the country will be reduced to the barest minimum, hence, our interest in helping this young man further his education, hone his skills & be of great benefit not only to Abia but to the entire nation as a whole.” the governor said.
